Firstly a huge thank you to Phil for stepping in for this evening's critique. Phil certainly didn't disappoint us. Once again he delivered first class critiques on over 40 paintings, imparting sound advice and commentary on each. Which every member present benefited. Phil's vast knowledge on art,art history and artists was shared, relevant to each painting. With a backdrop of exploding fireworks he kept us amused and entertained. Phil stated that the standard was exceedingly high and chose his 2 favourites..well done to Asha Bashi who was runner up with a charming figurative study of a young girl and congratulations to David Kirkham for a beautifully painted, sensitive landscape, which showed watercolour at it's finest.
