Rosaleen (“Rosie”) Moriarty-Simmonds, OBE
This evening, Rosie gave an excellent and very inspiring presentation to our members. The large audience remained captivated, while Rosie gave a PowerPoint presentation outlining the history & effects of Thalidomide & how she wrote her book "Four fingers & thirteen Toes" using voice activated software. As proprietor of the RMS Disability Issues Consultancy she spoke about her varied & extensive career, which has included working with ...disability organisations, television & radio broadcasting, & working as a school governor.
Rosie told us about her many hobbies which include acting, photography and art. We saw slides of her meticulous acrylic painting & silk painting. The first session was concluded with a view into her personal life, with photos from her family album & amusing anecdotes.
During the second session, Rosie demonstrated 'hands free' painting, as shown in the photos. She demonstrated skill & precision to carefully paint a flower.
A thoroughly interesting evening from a very inspiring speaker.
