Welcome to South Wales Art Society
i
The aims of the South Wales Art Society are to encourage and advance art in South Wales by the promotion of demonstrations, talks, classes, workshops, critiques, gallery visits and exhibitions.
The Society has a membership of 200 amateur and professional artists and others who simply enjoy art. The artists among us work in a wide range of media, including watercolour, oil, pastel, acrylic and sculpture. Interests range from traditional imagery to abstract and computer artwork.
Several of our members have exhibited with various London societies such as the summer exhibition at The Royal Academy, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and The Royal Society of Marine Painters.
Members enjoy a regular programme of events and activities such as:
Meetings are held fortnightly on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm at the Heath Community Centre in Cardiff. For further information about these activities see the “What’s On” section. For details on how to join the Society, see the Membership page in the “About” section.
The South Wales Art Society is honoured to have David Bellamy, wilderness artist and author, as its President.
